Come and See What
God is Doing! We're launching a Church
in Lake Stevens in March 2004. We're excited about
our journey of faith and seeking to share our lives with
others that they might come to know the power of Jesus
Christ! Even now we're gathering weekly developing
as a core team seeking God and preparing to reach out to
the community of Lake Stevens.

The Need:
Lake Stevens community needs more churches! One of
our Launch Team members recently completed a
survey. There are 25,000 people in the Lake
Stevens community. If all the chairs were filled
in each church on Sunday morning 21,725 people would
have no place to sit. There's no room for the
majority of the people to go to church!
The Call: Make
Disciples - God has a call on our lives to inspire
others to live out their faith boldly. God wants
to use us and those who gather with us to introduce
people to Jesus Christ and help them see the goodness of
walking and growing with God. Sheryl and I want to
see the Launch Team and the entire church be disciplers.
This means we'll spend time weekly developing
spiritually. All of us are taking a spiritual
inventory of where we are and where God wants us to
be. We invite everyone interested in planting
churches to join us on this journey of growth and
adventure!
Reach Out: The
most important thing we cando, is reach out with the
acceptance and compassion of God. We are currently
developing outreach plans with the Launch Team for a
Harvest Party, knocking on 4000 doors and a community
Christmas Eve Service. Our fall plans include
helping the Launch Team to share their faith and lead
their friends to Christ. We are praying that God
brings 80 people to the Launch Team by March in order to
reach out to the community with the message of Jesus
Christ.
Develop
Leaders: Everyone on the Launch Team is
encouraged to develop their potential for God. Our
focus of developing those around us is modeled by
Jesus. It is the way to reach the community for
Christ! The Fall Focus for the growing Launch Team
is a study of James, 40 Days of Purpose, spiritual
strengths finder, evangelism training and discipleship
training. We are developing four small-group
leaders for additional studies that will begin later
this year. Our experience is that God blesses
numerically and spiritually as we develop others and
allow them to exercise their gifts!
About the Fentons:
Marty Grew up in a family of seven. Some of the
things he did as a youth he still enjoys doing. He
enjoys fishing, camping, trucks and Sunday dinner!
He holds a BS degree from Oklahoma University and is 1
year away from completing his Master of Theology at
Northwest Graduate School. He has served at
Eastside Christian Church in Renton WA for 2 1/2 years
as Associate Pastor and at Somerset Christian Church in
Beaverton, OR for 8 years as Associate & Senior
Pastor. He currently serves at New Hope Community
Church in Marysville, WA as Associate Church Planter.
Sheryl grew up in a family of
six. She spent her young life working alongside
the family planting two churches. She enjoys
children, camping & riding motorcycles. She
has developed and operated two Preschools, mentored
women for twelve years, developed children's ministries
and youth ministries at six churches.
Marty & Cheryl were married in
1983. Family is very important to them. They
have been blessed with five children and enjoy spending
family time together.
